This is a wooden art piece made from Birch and recycled composite wooden core. As this is a natural material, you can expect some visual "imperfections" such as knots or thickness variation. Each of these has been sanded by hand to remove the majority of the burrs, as well as being hand-stained. 

This lamp is battery powered by two CR2032 batteries, housed on the back of the lamp. To replace them, you can gently pull the housing off the back of the lamp, remove two small screws on the back of the housing, and flip the cover open. The ON/OFF switch is also located on the battery housing. 

The background of the cutouts are luminescent and change color with angle and direction of light, emitting light only through the front of the lamp.

The stars on the tail of the cat are backed with a luminous color, but are not themselves illuminated. They reflect only the light already in the room.
